Adrian Wilton, Project Director
Adrian Wilton is a GRHC Certified Green Roof Professional with seven years experience in the roof top design and installation in the New York City region and beyond. In 2011 Adrian founded Living Restoration, an urban agriculture company based in Brooklyn, New York with a mission to utilize space efficiently for food production within the urban environment. Living Restoration’s core competencies were in the installation and management of urban farms in highly trafficked areas to expose and familiarize the public with alternative food methods. During these years Adrian developed three vertical growing systems of which 2 are now protected under US patent law. In addition Adrian worked as the Staten Island Disaster Recovery Manger for New York Cares immediately after Superstorm Sandy and served on the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation’s Stormwater Management Task Force in 2013 alongside notable business owners to create solutions for the islands susceptible shorelines.
Adrian was the driving force for The Living Roof project, a green roof converted into a rooftop farm located at the NYC Dept of Transportation’s ferry terminal. Adrian was featured in the Aug 2014 Landscape Architecture publication as one very few projects retrofitting existing green roofs in the US, as well as Lauren Mandel’s Eat Up Ag digital publication. Adrian is also the only candidate to receive two Green Genesis Awards from the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation for the work performed at The Living Roof project and later other community based agriculture endeavors with focus on Therapeutic/Workforce Development Programing in special needs schools and day centers. The combination of these projects resulted in over 2 tons of food donated to NYC food pantries.
With such experience Adrian brings a pragmatic and compassionate approach to the design, installation and management services offered* by Greensulate LLC.
